Kreative Koncepts Sketch Challenge #25 - Seven

Hi everyone,

Here's my DT page for the new Sketch Challenge #25 up at Kreative Koncepts!

I don't know if any of you remember the tutorial I made on designing your own Polaroid frames. Here is the link to it. These are the frames I had cut out as a sample from that tutorial. I've been waiting and waiting for the right page to use them and when I saw the new sketch, a little light bulb went off inside my head!

Here's the super fun sketch:

I used hearts in lieu of the rectangles to run across the page. Basically I cut four heart shapes out of Dura-lar overlay film and used them as masks. After all the misting and painting I removed the hearts and had the negative remaining. I outlined them with black Faber Castell pastel pencil to make them more prominent.

.

Here's a close up of one of the Polaroid frames.....

It had been a while since I'd used punchinella. I was looking for that extra something to finish my page and I'm so glad I came across my stash from Gauche Alchemy!

You Are Wonderful

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I've made a page just for me. No DT work, just a page I felt inspired to make after seeing this mood board over at Scrap Around The World:

I'm totally in love with all the colors and that contrast of black and white! I immediately knew what photos I wanted to use. They are actually photos I've used before...something I rarely do since I've got too many I'm "behind" on but in this case, they are the pics this mood board brought to mind.

Hmmm, my background green is "mintier" IRL but I can't seem to capture the color!
I had to paint that title several times before I got it right but I love that way it turned out! Here's a link to where I got the sunglasses (love the PS brushes this artist offers for free!). My Cameo totally came in handy for this page too.

Here's some close-ups:

I was trying to imitate the colors of the butterflies in these circles.

The weekend is almost here! I hope you have a wonderful one!

Supplies:
CS: Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go
Gouche paint: Daler & Rowney
Acrylic paint: Lumiere
Golden Medium crackle paste

Kreative Koncepts Color Challenge # 24 - Ohana

Hi everyone!

There's a new color challenge up at Kreative Koncepts  (number 24) and it's such a fun and happy one!

I wanted to make an energetic, happy page and I had this photo of my hubby and oldest daughter on a trip to Hawaii that fit the bill.

What do you think about the colors?

I also created this page a little differently than I usually do. It was actually kind of therapeutic! I picked a bunch of my scrap pieces of papers that generally went with the color scheme then I cut them up into different shapes willy nilly and adhered it to the page.

After that I painted, sprayed, and drew four of the colors into four "quadrants". The making of the background definitely felt more "art journally".

The Color Challenge goes until May 15 so you have plenty of time to join in. I hope to see you there!

Have a great day!

UmWowStudio - Look at the Stars

Hi everyone!

It was my turn up at UmWowStudio this week and here's the page I made:

I've been waiting to scrap this photo for a long time and I'm just so happy with the way it turned out! "Yellow" by Coldplay gave me the perfect title.

I've got more close ups here and I write about how I altered the chipboard tags and stars....I hope you visit!

So that little girl above (who is now almost 8!) had spring break last week. We headed out on our annual trip to visit our wonderful friends in Boston. We both had so much fun hanging out and catching up! These two have known each other since birth and I just love to see their closeness:

Alright, signing out....have a great week!
